Project Description
We were task to provide an automatic cathode process system, so that the customer can support multiple alkaline battery production lines.
One of the keys to such a system is the compaction and granulating system. Our system utilizes a 30Hp high torque drive, this allows us to apply up to 248,000 lbs of radial force to both compactor rolls. This in combination with a precise metering, blending systems results in a very consistent and high-performance cathode mix. Some of the advantages are outlines below,
- The system offers a high throughput rate in a very compact arrangement to produce highly compacted and granulated powder with consistent particle size distribution.
- The system is fully programmable and features low maintenance and ease of servicing.
- Advanced system controls including menus for programming the required batch quantities of the powder (& liquid) components, the process parameters and the readout for all operating parameters.
- It is a fully automated and integrated system for producing high quality granulated Cathode powder (using manganese dioxide powders, graphite & KOH electrolyte) with a throughput of 800-1000 kg hour.
